Did you know that you can install the new release of Ubuntu 9.10 for Karmic Koala architecture "LPIA", ie for the increasingly popular netbooks and desktops based on Intel Atom.
To install directly architecture LPIA just download the appropriate port of the distribution. I used version "alternate", the only image available for LPIA architecture. Can be found on the Ubuntu site CDImage in ports.
This is the link for Jaunty 9.04:

This is the link to Karmic 9.10:

but I read several people with my same hardware (Dell Mini 9) who have had problems in the 'Karmic install directly, but have instead ugradato happily Jaunty.
Once installed the standard version of Ubuntu, anyone interested in switching to Netbook Remix can simply give the command:
$ Sudo apt-get install ubuntu-netbook-remix Tags: atom , karmic , LPIA , ubuntu
