My bank uses a system based on smart cards for the digital signature of the provisions. Among the various smart card readers are provided to customers and also SCR355 SCR355-A produced by the SCM.
Install the drivers and software to use this type of readers with Debian GNU / Linux is simple. We must not do is issue this command:
# apt-get install libccid pcscd
With this command we are installing the drivers for the smart card reader (libccid) and a program (pcscd) that controls when you connect the player to the USB port.

Hello Paul, anomalies have occurred with Mozilla Firefox 2 and 3 with the smartcard reader and applications of banking?
(Ubuntu hardy)
thanx, Lawrence
Hello Lorenzo, I have unfortunately had a chance to try this recently. I use the player for banking applications in the office, but now they are stuck on windows terminals.
If the problems you seem to be linked more to Mozilla than to the smartcard reader, I suggest you give it a try using Wine and IExplorer, perhaps using IE4Linux. Is not the best, I know I should not even mess of my installations, but sometimes it's the only way to "bring home the result."
The system of banking business of BNL, for example, so many uses Java applets, etc. ... I'm amazed sometimes that works even on Windows!
Let me know!
The SCM smart card readers are distributed in Italy by internavigare srl. The website is http://www.intersmart.it Readers scr scr 355 are the equivalent of 335
